  1. How exciting for you and your family to build this together. I am impressed that you are involving your daughters in this project.
What good experience for them and you. I don’t think this will be easy, but am sure it will be rewarding. Good luck and God Bless you. Aunt Mot

  2. Grannie Renfro just saw this family project today and was so impressed and amazed. She said, “I wish him lots of luck and love, and hope it all turns out the way he wants it to.”

  3. Bobby, you may remember the two blokes from Oz who celebrated your Bearhawk order at Oshkosh, Roger and myself. As promised I looked up your site and there you were with the kids getting stuck into the build. It was great to catch up and have a chat. I will checking in on your posts to see how you are progressing. Good luck with the build!

    1. Hey Steve!

It was great meeting you guys and talking airplanes. Thanks for checking in on my build log! Tell Roger I said Hi.

  4. Wow this is awesome….don’t ever take it down as I will need these instructions for my own build (someday). So great you have this put together so nicely. It may add a few hours to the build! haha. I will keep checking in…let me know if you ever want any help riveting or something.

    1. Thanks man! I’ll certainly let you know when I need help riveting. There will be quite a bit when I start on the wings. Just remember… you volunteered! 🙂

  5. I lost your email. This is Dave with the Bearhawkmin Carefree. If you would like go still get together let me know? 602-909-0333

  6. Hey Steve, love your blog! So well put together, looks like you have put a lot of time into research and are doing a great job. I have several friends who have planes and I would like to get into flying in the next couple years and possibly build my own bearhawk. I am sure you are super busy but if you ever had time I would really enjoy meeting you and your project! I live up in the Sedona area and was so glad to see someone building a bearhawk in az who was doing it so well. Look forward to hearing from you.

    1. Hi John,

This isn’t Steve. This is Bobby. Thanks for your nice complements. Hopefully when I get it flying next year we can make a trip to Sedona!

  7. Hi, Steve.

I just ran across your BLOG. Are you flying your Bearhawk yet? I live on Mogollon Airpark in Overgaard and have been building my 4-place since 2012. Hoping to fly this year. Would really like to see your Bearhawk when I’m in the Valley.

    1. Hi Larry,

Bobby here. Not flying yet, but I’m optimistic that this is going to be the year! I just sent you a message back on the BH forums.

      Happy New Year!

      Bobby

  8. Hi Larry
I acquired a Bearhawk that is located in Carefree Az. Quick qustion? The plane has a extreme toe out configuration on the landing gear. Other than heating the landing gear would you know how to create a toe in configuration that seems to be recommended?

  9. Hello

Saw your post on the wing root air vents, would you please share the CAD drawing for this?

    Thanks much!

  10. Well done
You’re presentation was great. I will be a great help to me in my build.
    It’s a credit to you.

  11. Hello,

This log was terrific to look through. I have a quick question, if I may. The times you were getting help from like your brother, were you logging it as double time?

    Thanks for sharing your build!

  12. Hey

Plane looks great! Im just building one up at the moment and was wondering what you made the black interior around foot pedals and above the head out of! You say you used plaster board for to make the template but what is the actual material of the panels? Make it look very clean!
I like the look of it

    Cheers
    Harrison
